Key terms in this lesson
- internal resistance
- The resistance inside a source of e.m.f., such as a cell or battery, which causes potential difference to be lost when current flows.
- terminal p.d.
- The potential difference across the terminals of a source when current flows, equal to its e.m.f. minus the volts lost across its internal resistance.
