The Acid Dissociation Constant Ka
A weak acid only partially dissociates in aqueous solution, setting up an equilibrium:
HA(aq) &rlhar H+(aq) + A-(aq)
The equilibrium constant for this dissociation is called the acid dissociation constant, Ka. Its expression is:
