Reaction with Sodium Carbonate
Transition metals 2+ ions react with sodium carbonate to give insoluble carbonates.
Hexaaqua 3+ ions are acidic enough for the reaction with sodium carbonate to give a precipitate of the metal hydroxide and carbon dioxide and water or hydrogencarbonate ions if the sodium carbonate is in excess.
