A gene is a length of DNA that contains coded information to make a polypeptide and functional RNA such as tRNA and ribosomal RNA.
The information is in the form of a sequence of bases on the DNA.
A sequence of three bases determines the amino-acid to be incorporated into a polypeptide chain.
