Most of the safety features in a car increase the impact time and consequently reduce the impact force. Seat Belts restrain the passenger and stop the passenger from crashing into the dashboard, front seats or the windscreen or any part of the car frame when the car suddenly stops.
airbags act as a cushion to spread the impact force and increase the impact time to reduces the impact force.
