Temperature is a measure of the degree of hotness of an object. The higher the temperature, the more internal energy the object has. Temperature is measure on fixed scales such as the Celsius (centigrade), Fahrenheit and the absolute scale. The Celsius scale is defined by the ice point 0°C and the steam point 100°C. The Kelvin scale is defined by absolute zero (0K) and the triple point of water 273.16K.
