Newton's Third Law of Motion
The principle of conservation of momentum follows from Newton's second and third laws of motion.
For every force there is an equal and opposite force, acting on a different object, so the force changing the momentum in one direction must be counteracted by a force in the opposite direction to ensure the total momentum is conserved.
Impulse = force × time
