Properties of Amines
Ammonia is a pyramidal molecule with bond angles of about 107° and amines therefore have this same shape. Primary amines can hydrogen bond to each other. Shorter chain amines (methylamine, ethylamine) are gases at room temperature, those with slightly longer chains are volatile liquids with fishy smells
