Polyamides

To form polyamides, the monomers must have carboxyl - COOH and amine NH2 groups. Nylon, Kevlar and proteins are polyamides.Polyamides are formed from reacting two different types of monomer units. Nylon-6,6 is made from the monomers 1,6-diaminohexane and hexanedioic acid.
