Opsonisation is the process of coating foreign particles or cells, such as bacteria, toxins ornithine viruses foreign particles, such as bacteria or viruses, with proteins called opsonins.
Opsonins bind to pathogens, and tag them so they are more easily recognised by phagocytes.
