Factors Affecting Genetic Biodiversity
Mutation of the DNA creates new alleles.
Interbreeding between different populations creates genetic diversity because there is gene flow i.e. alleles are transferred between the two populations. If the number of alleles decreases, biodiversity decreases.
Selective breeding and natural selection can reduce biodiversity.
